A Flush ride is a very low intensity (30% V02max) bout of cardio performed for 15-30 minutes to promote local lactate clearance after a high intensity session. Feel free to watch a TV show or read a book during the ride. Simply looking to circulate inflammation and reduce soreness, not “exercise” or incur stress. This low-intensity steady exercise can cleanse the blood of hydrogen ions, lactic acid, and lymph that have accumulated from the previous high intensity training session.
Some parameters to follow:
. Level of intensity < 30% of Vo2 MAX
. Assist in lactate clearance to promote recovery
. If there is competition in 24 hours then its recommended
. 15 minutes is generally all you'll need
